Hi, my name isĀ Mia and I've put together a list of how I could be the best fit for your role!Ā Have a nosy below šŸ‘‡šŸ¼

1. I have a degree in Interactive MediaĀ Ā
Well, hopefully!Ā šŸ¤žšŸ» I’ll be graduating this spring with a BSc Interactive Media and a diploma in Professional Practice. Interactive Media has allowed me to explore different avenues of the creative industry and has given me the skills to go out and pursue a career.
Ā I’ve taken modules such as the Fundamentals of Digital Design which has given me the opportunity to get creative with design and enhance skills I previously had. I’ve also taken modules such as Motion Graphics and Cinematic Practice for Emerging Platforms which gave me an insight into the world of video and has improved myĀ skills within filming & video editing.Ā
As stressful as it's been, I couldn't have chosen a better degree, I've enjoyed it from day 1 and I've grown so much as a person and as a creative throughout the last 4 years. It has given me skills, knowledge and experience that I could have never imagined and I'm super excited to put these to use in my career!

2. I've got the work experienceĀ
I was lucky enough to join the fantastic Global Recruitment and Engagement Team at Ulster University for a year as a Creative Designer Placement student, which was such an amazing experience! I worked alongside the team to create content for web and print to encourage international students to come and study in Northern Ireland.Ā
I created content for internal, external and international use that wereĀ posted on social media and posted out to countries such as India and Indonesia. I also helped set up events for international students and organised communications with external agents and students using an automation and engagement platform. Ā
Working from home for mostĀ of my placementĀ meant I had a helping hand most days! šŸ‘‡šŸ¼
I’ve also been really lucky to work on a live brief during my final year as part of the Project Social Agency working with community partners. This allowed me to work within a team to come up with 3 social media campaigns for Sported, a UK-wide charity organisation. I focused on the International Women’s Day campaign and createdĀ a video, GIFs and graphics to flood their social media. The campaigns were originally just for Sported within Northern Ireland, however the UK communications team wanted to incorporate our International Women’s Day campaign into theirs!Ā

3. I’ve a skill or two Ā
I’ve definitely picked up a thing or two the past few years! I’m pretty handy working with Adobe especially Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro to name a few. I’m also proficient working with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).Ā
I’ve also worked with Gecko Engage, an engagement platform for educational institutions to communicate with students and external companies using emails, SMS and setting up events. I have experience working with Project Management Tools such asĀ Basecamp where I worked on a project as part of a team which allowed me to see the benefits of using such a positive tool. Ā

4. I want to keep learning!Ā
As much as I've learntĀ the past 4/5 years, I still want to keep going! There is simply so much more to learn within the creative industry and I’m up for it! I’m currently in the middle of working toward my Google Digital Garage certificate in the Fundamentals of Digital Marketing to give me a further understanding of the benefits of digital marketing and how to put the skills I've learnt into practice.
I’m also up for learning so much more! Coming out with a degree and diploma in professional practice is a starting point but the creative industry is constantly evolving, and we need to keep up with it! I’m passionate about learning new things all to do with media, digital and content creation and always up to evolve & grow with each new project I take on. (Ā I’m also hoping to start learning BSL in September this year!)

5. I’m creative, fun and passionate about my workĀ
If I do say so myself! I love getting my teeth into a project and getting creative with it – I love seeing it come together from the research phase to the build and then finally the completion/ handover.Ā
I'm a mix between an introvert and extrovert and have such a passion to add fun and creativity to my work! āœšŸ¼

Have a little nosy around here to see what all I've been up to!šŸ‘‡šŸ¼
